The Eight Wandering Stars

The eight types of chi energy are known as wandering stars. Each star has its name, phase, level of fortune, and the description of its chi energy.

There are eight chi movements (F1, F2, F3, F4 and H1, H2, H3, H4) that represent different types of favourable and unfavourable positions. The H types of positions (directions) are harmful. F1 direction is quite fortunate, F2 – fortunate, F3 is very fortunate and F4 is extremely fortunate. H1 is least harmful direction, H2 is harmful, H3 is very harmful and H4 is extremely harmful.

You will soon see that once you determine your trigram, you will know which directions are harmful and fortunate for you.

If you don't know your trigram, go to the bottom of this page to find out and then come back here. The page will open in a new window so you will not lose this page if you open the link.

Have your trigram? Great.

Here are the meanings of all eight wandering stars, from F1 to H4. For now on, only concentrate on the meaning and the fortune level of eight wandering stars:

Star Fortune Element Meaning
Sheng F1 Wood Prosperity and respectability
Yan F2 Metal Longevity and romantic relationships
Tian F3 Earth Harmonious relationships and good health
Fu F4 Wood Peace and stability
Hou H1 Earth Accidents, injury and arguments
Liu H2 Water Failed relationships and malicious encounters
Wu H3 Fire Injury, fire, accidents, litigation
Jue H4 Metal Unproductive careers, disease, misfortune

Now, when you know your trigram and you know the meanings of eight stars, you should get a compass to determine which direction is favourable and unfavourable for you. Any compass will do, such as this one.

Although the table below might seem intimidating, it is really not. Here's how to find out your favourable and unfavourable directions. Let's say your trigram is Kan. You find Kan in the table and you see that the first direction below the name of your trigram is SE. And then you look left and you see that Southeast represents great prosperity and respectability to your personality type.

Hence, you should position your furniture to face this direction for it to bring prosperity and respectability. The best furniture to position this way is your office desk as such position will ensure productive work which will bring great rewards.

When you look down from SE, you see S (South). South represents longevity and romantic relationships to your personality type. So you might want to position your dressing table or even your bed to face this direction.

Keep going down and this way you will find out all the favourable directions for different purposes and you will also know which your unfavourable directions are. Try to avoid putting anything of importance to face your unfavourable directions.
