Feng Shui Palace

Each of the eight directions has a Feng Shui palace. Here is the table showing the meaning of each direction:

South Southwest West Northwest North Northeast East Southeast
Palace
Fire
Earth
Lake
Heaven
Water
Mountain
Thunder
Wind
Phase
Fire

As you see, each palace has its own phase too. For example, the Lake palace has a Metal phase and the direction of this palace is West.

To fully apply the Feng Shui Palace principle to your home, you will also need to know about The Eight Wandering Stars. Here is the table showing how the concept of Eight Wandering Stars relates to this Feng Shui principle:

F1 F2 F3 F4 H1 H2 H3 H4
Wandering Star Sheng Qi Yan Nian Tian Yi Fu Wei Hou Hai Liu Sha Wu Gui Jue Ming
Phase Wood Metal Earth Wood Earth Water Fire Metal

If you do not know about the eight wandering stars, simply put, the number and letter combinations (F1, H3) mean the level of favourable (F combinations) or unfavourable (H combinations) chi.

Also, you will need to understand the five elements concept because you will need to know how to enhance or eliminate the impact of some elements.

It is useful to know the palace of each direction because then if your widely used part of the house has some unfavourable wandering star, you can use the palace to weaken the star. It may sound complicated, and it is.

You see, Feng Shui is usually too simplified on the web therefore it does not work. But if you want precise measurement of your house's favourable and unfavourable spots, here is what you have to do:

1.Find out your trigram.

2.Find out the trigram of your house

3.Draw the plan of your house and find out the sitting and facing directions of your house. Draw the eight directions directly onto the plan of your house and mark which directions are favourable and unfavourable to you.

4.Use palaces of each direction and eight stars to enhance or reduce the elements that bring good and bad chi. In general, if the house direction is ruled by a favourable star (F1 to F4), then you should introduce an element that enhances that star.

For example, Sheng Qi star phase is wood and it is a favourable star. You can enhance this star by introducing water. How do you know which element can enhance, control, assist or weaken another element? Here is a handy table that will help you to find out:

Fire Earth Metal Water Wood
Enhances Wood Fire Earth Metal Water
Assists Fire Earth Metal Water Wood
Controls Water Wood Fire Earth Metal
Weakens Earth Metal Water Wood Fire
